Travel Industry Veterans to Help Guide Fast-Growing Travel Tech Startup in Europe
SAN FRANCISCO, California — Today, FLYR Inc., the data science company focused on forecasting airfare volatility, announced the addition of Charles Petruccelli and Frederic Vanhoutte to the advisory board of FLYR International.
Petruccelli was previously the longtime President of Global Business Travel at American Express, where he was also responsible for AMEX’s global strategy with airlines. In addition to his advisory capacity, Petruccelli will be formally joining the board of directors of Paris-based FLYR International.
Frederic Vanhoutte is a strong reference within the French travel and tourism industry. In addition to founding and helming a number of travel, hospitality, and technology companies, he is also a member of the National Tourism Council of France and President of the Commission on “Connected Travel” at Syndicat National des Agences de Voyages, the French national association of travel agencies.

Today’s announcement follows the launch of FLYR International in January, with an investment in the entity by AXA Strategic Ventures (formerly AXA Seed Factory) and the closing of a seed financing of $3.7 million, in the US. FLYR expects to begin fare prediction support for European flights, as well as offer its FareBeacon alert and FareKeep price protection products, in Spring 2015.
