AXA Seed Factory achieves its third investment in the SoLoMo (Social, Local, Mobile) area with Widmee, a company offering a turnkey cloud platform specifically intended for financial institutions. The round of series capital amounts to 210 K€.
An expert in smartphones applications as well as smart data, Widmee designed the first turnkey cloud platform specifically intended for financial institutions, proposing a complete set of tools necessary to optimize their digital offer.
“It is a three-phase project”, explains Frederic Boy, President of Widmee. “The platform first collects a set of relevant data from various sources: databases, mobile applications, social networks… It then generates and qualifies prospects thanks to the analysis of this data and according to the criteria of the offer proposed by the bank or the insurance company. Finally, the platform accelerates the transformation by contacting the prospect through the best channel (push, email, call center) and proposing a personalized product.”
This centralized approach should allow a more fluid user experience and greatly improve the efficiency of client interaction as well as the quality of the customer relationship.
Facing the competition of newcomers who wants to diversify their activities in the insurtech sector, proposing personalized digital experiences to individuals has become a major challenge for all players.
The tools needed to achieve this objective are clearly identified: Smart Data (intelligent exploitation of data) and Mobile. Indeed, Smart Data should allow a better way of identifying prospects and understanding their needs, while the mobile is today the best distribution channel for personalized services and products.
“One of the 5 themes of our investments is SoLoMo (Social, Local, Mobile) in the insurance world. This trend is currently merging with the world of mobile payments”, said Minh Q. Tran, General Director of the AXA Seed Factory. “Through this investment, we are trying to make a “Full Stack” in mobile internet, generating digital leads for subscription and online payment. This build-up approach is done with the help of a serial entrepreneur that we recruited through our Entrepreneur In Residence (EIR) program launched a year ago. We will announce other investments in the months to come.”
